Information
- Today's generation of kids are referred to as Generation iY. Come to Bible study at Zion starting this Sunday at 9:30, and learn how we can best parent and educate this generation of kids. Based on author Tim Elmore's book, Jon Bernhardt will lead a discussion-rich study on Generation iY!

- World Sport Stacking Day is Thursday, November 14. Third graders will be stacking from 8:35-9:05. Please let Mrs. Steinbacher know if you're willing to help.

- Third graders will see a live theater performance of Peter Pan at the Florissant Civic Center on Wednesday, November 20. All students should bring a cold lunch to eat in our classroom (no peanuts allowed) before we leave at 11:30. I only need one parent chaperone to ride the bus with us; please email me if you are available.

- Attention Moms: Join us any time from 7:00-7:45 a.m. on Wednesday, November 6 for Muffins for Moms in the church basement. You are also invited to stay for chapel at 8:10.

- October Reading Calendars are due for a reading grade, and November calendars were included in Friday folders today.

Religion
In Unit 3- God the Father's Gracious Gifts- we will learn about God's continuing care for the world and each of us personally.

Spelling
Spelling Patterns: 
"ump" (like clump), 
"u_e" (like cube), 
"air" (like hair)

Challenge: spoken, tutor, future, always, author.

Grammar
We will focus on irregular plural nouns, which don't use an -s, -es, or -ies ending. (1 man, 2 men and 1 deer, 10 deer.)

Math
We will focus on capacity of containers, temperature to the nearest degree, comparison symbols (<, >, =), horizontal, vertical, and oblique lines, and perimeter of a shape. Our next test will be on Monday, November 4. 

Science
We will continue learning about animals' adaptations for survival.

Social Studies
We will continue our chapter about immigration by playing an immigration simulation game to learn what it's like for people to leave their home countries.
