- Moms in Prayer is looking for a parent from each classroom who can meet on Wednesdays from 8:00-8:45 a.m. to pray for Zion students. If you're interested, please contact Sheryl Nea (fruitnveggiefamily@gmail.com)
- If you place a "Together We're Better" order before August 29, you will be entered to win a $25 TWB card.
- If your child has an appointment or will be absent, please email me and cc: jschmidt@zionharvester.org.
- Water bottles are welcome in our classroom during
these hot days (as long as students can use them and refill them without
spilling).
- The new salads in the lunchroom have been met with rave reviews! If you have any extra garden produce that you'd like to share, the cafeteria will gladly accept donations.

- Our chapel offerings this year will go to support The Sparrow's Nest Maternity Home, which provides shelter and services to young mothers.

Memory

Religion
We will address the questions, "Why is the Bible important?" and "What does it mean to be a Christian?"

Reading
We will continue discussing strategies to become good readers. We will also continue practicing
our literacy centers.
Math
We will focus on odd and even numbers, subtracting 0 and 1, difference of 0 and 1, story problems, and congruent shapes. Our first math test will be on Wednesday, August 28.
Science
We will learn about animals' body parts that protect them and support their survival.
Social Studies
We will continue learning about our community's location in the world, our country, and our state.
